Eileen W. McKinlay

Eileen M. (née Wall) McKinlay, 96, of Secane, passed away on December 19, 2023 after a sudden decline in her health. Born in Philadelphia, she spent most of her youth in Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania before returning to Philadelphia during her high school years where she graduated from John Bartram High School in 1944. She was the daughter of Earl Wall and Miriam (née McMenamin) Wall. She worked as an accounting clerk for Food Fair for over 30 years and then for Cigna for over 10 years. In 1951, she married the love of her life, Robert J. McKinlay. After Robert’s service in the U.S. Army they settled in Secane, where they raised their six children.

 Eileen, a devout Catholic, was a longtime member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who selflessly put her family’s needs before her own. She was an avid reader with incredible curiosity and intellect.

 Eileen was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert, in 2005, and her thoughtful son Corporal Kenneth McKinlay, USMC in 1981. She is survived by her five children and 12 grandchildren: Robert McKinlay (Adam McKinlay, Melissa McKinlay, and Shannon McKinlay), Michelle McKinlay (Kenny Demofonte), Colleen and James Christaldi (Jennifer Sudhaus, Kimberly Ficek, Danielle Santucci, and Jesse Christaldi), Drs. Joseph and Shantha McKinlay (Dr. Shantha McKinlay, Ensign Kenneth McKinlay, USN, and Alexandra McKinlay), and Steven McKinlay (Joseph McKinlay). She was also blessed with nine great-grandchildren.

 A viewing will be held on Saturday December 23^rd, 2023 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 2130 Franklin Ave, Morton, PA 19070 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00AM. Burial will be in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
