Eileen M. Lewis

Eileen M. Lewis (nee McAllister), age 70, of Drexel Hill, PA, passed away on June 18, 2025. Born in Cape May, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Lester A. and Josephine L. McAllister (nee Nugent).

Eileen’s journey began in the charming shores of Wildwood, where she attended St. Ann’s Roman Catholic primary school, and a love for learning formed the foundation of her lifelong pursuits. Her formative years in Wildwood were marked by joyful memories and cherished friendships, leading her family to Pennsylvania, where she further honed her scholarly aspirations while attending Archbishop Prendergast High School. It was here that Eileen cultivated her passion for education, a passion that would follow her throughout her entire life.

With an impressive four-decade-long career in healthcare, Eileen devoted herself to nurturing and caring for others, exemplifying her profound empathy. After her retirement, she continued to serve her community in remarkable ways, generously volunteering with Surrey Senior services. Her kindness knew no bounds as she drove individuals to appointments and shopping outings, embodying the true spirit of service. As a Foster Grandparent with Senior Corps (COSA), Eileen found joy and fulfillment in mentoring younger generations, offering them the same love and support she so freely shared.

Eileen was not only a dedicated professional and volunteer; she was also an avid reader and an enthusiastic traveler. She reveled in stories and adventures, expanding her horizons through literature and exploration. Yet, above all, Eileen treasured the moments spent with her beloved family, her greatest source of happiness and pride.

Eileen was the beloved wife of the late Samuel C. Lewis; loving mother of Marie Morgan, John Lewis (Dawn), James Lewis, Joseph Lewis (Melissa); adoring grandmother of Samantha, Kaitlyn, Erin, John, Emily, Jason, Emma, Alexander, and Jackson; caring great-grandmother of Evelynn; devoted sister of Patricia Miele (Michael). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her siblings, Kathleen O’Grady, Thomas McAllister, Dennis McAllister, James McAllister, and Michael McAllister.

Family and friends are invited to Eileen’s Viewing 9:00-10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at St. Philomena Church, 41 E. Baltimore Ave, Lansdowne, PA 19050, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. Interment Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA.
