West Chester, formerly of Drexel Hill and Broomall

Edwina Rose Lotka (nee Campbell), age 85, of West Chester, PA, formerly of Drexel Hill and Broomall, PA, passed away on December 20, 2025. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Catherine Campbell (nee Ballendorf).

Edwina dedicated her life to education, nurturing young minds with a passion that transcended mere curriculum. Her commitment to her students was not just professional; it was deeply personal, shaped by her profound Catholic faith and strengthened by her Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education from Gwynedd Mercy College, a milestone she was immensely proud of.

A woman of many interests, Edwina found joy in the simple yet enriching pursuits of life. She relished watching Mother Angelica on EWTN, drawing inspiration from the teachings of her faith which served as a cornerstone in her life. Her love for classic black and white movies and the grandeur of old Hollywood stars provided her with countless hours of nostalgia and delight. An avid reader, she often immersed herself in books that explored history, particularly the Civil War, tapping into the lessons of the past that informed her understanding of the present. Edwina also took a keen interest in news and current events and was always eager to engage in informed discussions.

Edwina’s legacy of tenacity and dedication can be felt by all who knew her, especially through the lives of the countless students she influenced over her storied career. Her ability to connect with her students created lasting impressions that extended far beyond classroom walls, solidifying her place in the hearts of many.

Edwina was the beloved wife of the late James L. Lotka; loving mother of James Lotka (Denise), Catherine Markley (Brian), John Lotka, and Marirose Baker (Thomas); adoring grandmother of Katelyn, Emily, Brianna, and Sarah Mae Markley and Lauren Lotka; caring great-grandmother of Lena Farrell.
