Edward James Smith, age 74, of Ardmore, PA, passed away with his daughters by his side on April 1, 2018.
Born in Queens, NY, he was the son of the late Walter and Nellie (nee West) Smith.
Edward served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era.
He was employed as a Field Engineer for IBM in New York for 25 years, and then for Hovenza in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands for 15 years.
He was preceded in death by his spouse, Patricia M. Clark in 2017 and by his first wife, Magda Rosa Pujol in 1979.
He was the loving father of Catherine Smith-Heine (Christopher) of Severna Park, MD,
Michelle Smith, M.D. (Brian Alexander) of Wynnewood, PA, and step-father of Sacha Thomazeau.
He was the proud grandfather of Ella and Brooke Heine and Sydney and Maya Alexander.
He is also survived by his brothers Richard and Fred Smith.
Services and interment will be private.
