Edward J. Kinslow, age 99, of Media, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 10, 2026. Born in North Philadelphia and raised in the East Falls neighborhood, Edward was the son of the late Edward A. and Marie (née Mulligan) Kinslow, who lived a long life defined by faith, service, music, learning, and devotion to family.
Edward proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. In high school, he helped his father at the U.S. Customs House (originally the Second Bank of the United States), which eventually became a National Monument. After returning home from service, he founded and operated his own successful plastics business, which he later sold. He then continued his career working in sales for William C. Welde & Sons, followed by a long career with the Reuben H. Donnelley Corporation.
A devout Catholic, Edward’s faith shaped everything he did in life. He remained deeply involved in Saint Mary Magdalen Parish, serving as an usher, participating in the pro-life group, serving on the parish council, and contributing to many parish committees and ministries. He was also a proud graduate of Roman Catholic High School and served as President and violinist of the Rose Tree Pops Orchestra.
Edward had many interests that brought him joy. He loved playing the violin, golfing, tennis, coin collecting, traveling, family camping trips across various parts of the United States, and listening to classical music wherever he went. He especially cherished spending time with his family and enjoying a sweet dessert — particularly chocolate. He had a lifelong love of learning, especially in history, philosophy, literature, art, and music. He was known for his steady presence, gentle nature, and deep appreciation for life’s blessings. A true gentleman, Edward rarely complained and was known to say, “Nothing hurts!”
Edward was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 70 years, Anne (née Welde) Kinslow. He is survived by his six children: Edward J. Kinslow, Jr. (Faith), Dennis Kinslow (Lorraine), William Kinslow (Camelia), Annette Lucidi (Michael), Thomas Kinslow (Christine), and Gregory Kinslow.
He was a loving grandfather to his eight grandchildren: Lauren Finore (James), Brian Kinslow (Tricia), Justin Kinslow, Connor Kinslow, Matthew Lucidi (Faith), Jared Lucidi (Hanna), Colin Kinslow, and Katarina Kinslow, and a proud great-grandfather to his seven great-grandchildren: Jimmy, Joey, Lily, Jackson, Jacob, Hannah, and Arthur.
Edward often said his greatest accomplishment was his large family and his faith, which remained central to his life. He will be remembered for his kindness, humility, curiosity, and unwavering love for those around him.
Relatives and friends are invited to honor Edward’s life at a Viewing on Saturday, February 14, 2026, 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 2400 N. Providence Road, Media, PA 19063, followed by a Funeral Mass commencing at 10:30 AM. Interment thereafter at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Edward’s memory would be appreciated to Roman Catholic High School, 301 N. Broad Street, Attn: Dan Joyce
