Edward H. Chambers, 85, of Devon, PA, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, March 3, 2023. Born in Mt. Kisco, NY, he was a son of the late Harry H. and Florence (nee Hanlon) Chambers.

Ed was the beloved husband of Barbara (nee Kossmann) Chambers; loving father of Laurie Sherman (Kevin), Jennifer Glenn (Steve), and Edward Chambers; adoring grandfather of Kyle Sherman (Lindsey), Ryan Sherman (Emmy), Daniel Glenn, Peter Glenn, Greta Glenn, Max Chambers, and Ethan Chambers; proud great-grandfather of Edie Sherman, Elle Sherman, Eli Sherman, Liv Sherman, and Henry Sherman; and dear brother of Harry Chambers (Peggy) and Dolores Smith (Len).

Ed graduated from Lehigh University and started his career at Price Waterhouse in NYC. He moved on to Thomas Bakeries in New Jersey as Controller and then CFO. He then worked for Heublein in Hartford, Connecticut in the grocery products division. He went to St.Paul, Minnesota to serve as CFO of Hamms Brewery, a division of Heublein. After a short time, he was back to Hartford before being transferred to KFC in Louisville, Kentucky where he was CFO and then President. 

Later in his career, Ed moved to PA to start D’Lites of America as a franchisee. He worked for eight years building eight stores mostly in the Main Line area. After they were sold, he worked for Wawa for 15 years as Sr. Vice President and CFO. Upon retiring, he started the Chambers Group doing consulting work. He continued to serve on several company boards as well.

Ed had many hobbies including woodworking, photography and gardening. He was the family “Lego master” completing many challenging projects. He worked on a number of charities - Doctors Without Borders, City Team Chester, Williamson School and others. He worked several years raising money to build a YMCA in Media, Pa. He was a founding member of the Rocky Run YMCA.

Funeral Services will be private in Somers, NY. The family will hold a Celebration of Life for friends and family in May. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
