Edna Mahoney

Edna E. Mahoney (née Walsh), 98, of West Chester, PA passed away on September 28, 2021, in West Chester, PA.

Born in 1923 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late William John and Edna Walsh, Sr.

Edna was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed crafting, writing poetry and tinkering with various musical instruments. She was a long time member of St. Matthias Parish in Bala Cynwyd before moving to West Chester and becoming a member of SS Peter & Paul Parish. She was truly a woman of deep faith whose life reflected her commitment to the Lord.  She was an active member of the Saint Matthias Charismatic Prayer Group for many years.  She also was an active member of the Bellarmine Guild at Saint Joseph’s University.

Edna was the beloved wife of the late Joseph W. Mahoney, Sr.; loving mother of Dennis F. Mahoney (Josephine), Reverend Shaun Mahoney and the late Joseph W. Mahoney, Jr. (Patricia M.); devoted grandmother of Diana E., Dennis J., Matthew S., Timothy J., Judith A., Gabrielle J.  Predeceased by siblings; William J. Walsh Jr. and Mary Frances Bodine.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing 9:30-10:45 AM Monday, October 4, 2021 at SS Peter & Paul Church, 1325 Boot Road, West Chester, PA followed by her Funeral Mass 11:00 AM. Interment Calvary Cemetery.
