Edmar Silva, Jr.

Drexel Hill

Edmar “Eddie” Silva, Jr. (1947 - 2025) passed away on March 28th, at the age of 77, surrounded by his family in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.

Eddie is survived by his daughter Shana (Patrick); granddaughter, Darby; sisters, Elaine (John) and Denise (Dave); as well as his nieces/nephews and his great nieces/nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Edmar and Helen Silva.

His hobbies included watching sports and constructing model cars and airplanes. He enjoyed meeting his “Nam” friends, each week to catch up. Each year, on Veterans Day, they would go to the Vietnam Memorial to honor those who have been lost. He enjoyed being with his family on holidays and was the first one to call everyone on their birthdays. He loved to celebrate his granddaughter’s birthday, each year, in Florida.

As a veteran of the U.S. Air Force he was proud to be a part of Operation Ranch Hand, while deployed to Bien Hoa Air Base, Vietnam (1967 to 1968). Eddie served his country with honor and integrity. After returning from Vietnam, he took over the family’s Exxon Station as an auto mechanic.
