Edward R. Albright “Snookie”, of Newtown Square, PA, a beloved member of his community, sadly passed away on August 5, 2025 at the age of 83.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Charles and Mildred (née Bell) Albright.
A proud veteran, Edward served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. His commitment to his country reflected his strong character and willingness to support others, characteristics that he carried throughout his life.
Edward’s career as a printer in the printing industry was a testament to his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. He took great pride in his profession, contributing significantly to the field he loved.
Edward was a proud member and the range Captain, of the Penn Del Archery Range and found great joy in the sport, sharing this passion with others as a talented archery teacher and coach, inspiring countless young athletes with his mentorship. His prowess as a world champion archer, a highlight of his life, showcased his dedication, focus, and unwavering spirit.
An avid outdoorsman, Edward enjoyed exploring the beauty of nature, with memorable trips to Watkins Glen, NY, the majestic Grand Canyon, and the stunning landscapes of Washington State, experiences that enriched his appreciation for nature and adventure. Edward was also an avid coin collector, a hobby that allowed him to connect with history and treasure the stories behind each piece.
Edward was known for his caring and friendly demeanor, often infused with humor that brought joy to those around him. His lively personality made family gatherings enjoyable, as he cherished the time spent with loved ones.
Edward was the beloved husband of the late Gail (née Morrison) Albright for 39 cherished years. He is survived by his siblings, James Gorman of Newtown Square, PA, Bob Price (Kathy) of Wilmington, DE, Millie Gustaferri of Upper Darby, PA, Pamela Way (Geoff) of Havertown, PA, Kathy Knight of Tamaqua, PA, and Susan Neary of Drexel Hill, PA., as well as many dear nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Edward's life during a Visitation on Tuesday evening, August 12, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073. A Graveside Service will be held the following day, Wednesday, August 13, 2025, beginning at 11:30 AM at Edgewood Memorial Park, 325 Baltimore Pike, Glen Mills, PA 19342.
