Dorothy Zuppas, 82, of West Chester, PA, formerly of Havertown, PA, passed away April 6, 2022.
Born June 19, 1939 in Worcester, MA, she was the daughter of the late Milton and Urania (nee Costas) Lazarus. Dorothy graduated from Worcester Classical High School and attended Clark University. She excelled at mathematics, and continued to use these skills even in her later years.
Dorothy moved from Worcester to Pittsburgh and ultimately to the Philadelphia area in 1968. In addition to her role as a loving and supportive mother, Dorothy spent decades working in retail, including several years as a cosmetics manager at Bonwit Teller in Philadelphia. She enjoyed fashion and was an avid fan of accessories!
Dorothy was quick witted, outspoken, and often unfiltered. In recent years, while her dementia was challenging, through the help of her friends at Arbor Terrace and Integrity First, she remained high spirited and filled each day with laughter. Dorothy’s sense of humor will definitely be missed!
Dorothy was the loving mother of Peter H. Zuppas (Irina) and Christine E. Dugan (Jim); and adoring grandmother (Yia-Yia) of Jimmy Dugan, Ally Dugan, Nickolai Zuppas and Alexandra Zuppas. She was predeceased by her brothers: Alexander Lazarus and George Lazarus; and her former husband Ulysses Zuppas.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing 10 to 11 AM, Monday, April 11, 2022, at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382, followed by her Funeral Service at 11 AM. Interment at Birmingham Lafayette Cemetery, West Chester.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 399 Market Street, Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
