Dorothy "Starr" Rigby, 74, of Newtown Square, PA passed away peacefully March 8, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved daughter of the late Stanley W. and Dorothy A. (nee Crane) Ross.
Starr is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, William F. Rigby; her children, Michael W. Rigby (Tami), Kelly A. Sharp (Edward), and Dana M. Gorman (Ryan) as well as her siblings, John A. Ross (Mona), Margaret Ross Talbot (David), Alexander C. Ross (Arlana), James D. Ross (Mary), Betsy Ross Aguilar (Tomas); and her beautiful, adoring grandchildren Tyler, Alexandra, Payton, Brady, Madison, Ciara, William, McKenna, Mason and Adalyn. She was predeceased by her dear brother Stanley W. Ross Jr and his wife Phyllis (nee Dyke).
Starr was born in Darby, PA and raised in Newtown Square, PA. After getting married and living in Broomall PA she and her growing family moved to West Chester, PA where she spent most of her days tending to the home, taking care of her children and watching the many school activities. She loved watching her children’s soccer games and later, enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow and flourish under her love. Starr always put her family's needs before her own and was referred to by most as the "Rock" of the large family. She made it her life's mission to ensure that every occasion was made extra special and that her family, her children and especially her grandchildren know how much she loved them. Starr also made sure that her parents were very well cared for until their passing and was always available for a "quick cup of tea" and any of the family's needs.
Relatives and friends are invited to Starr's viewing Tuesday, March 12th 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Wednesday, March 13th from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA. Her funeral mass will be on March 13th beginning 11:00 AM at St. Anastasia's Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA. followed by Interment at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 Sproul Road, Springfield, PA.
