Dorothy O'Connor

Dorothy A. O'Connor (nee Cummings), 83, of Swarthmore, Pa passed away on June 29, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Francis and Sophie (nee Demski) Cummings. She is also predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph T. O'Connor and grandson 1st Lt. Jeffrey D. Cooper. Dorothy was one of the founding members of Notre Dame deLourdes Church, she loved crocheting, making rosaries for the church, reading, playing cards, sitting on the beach in Wildwood, NJ , swimming at Hidden Hollow Swim Club, listening to music (Loud!) and dancing. She also enjoyed eating out, going to Swarthmore Players Club, the Walnut Street Theater and shoe shopping. Dorothy was very career oriented and cared about her own personal appearance as well as that of others. She was a very generous, loyal, loving and adventurous person but most important to Dorothy was the time she spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family was always her top priority. She is survived by her loving children Diane Cooper (Doug), Sheila Hamm (Daniel), Sharon O'Connor (Kate Prather), grandchildren Jay Cooper, Shannon Hamm, Ryan Hamm, Melyssa Herzer(Zach), Kristen Hamm, Brittany Hamm, Melanie Hamm, great-grandchildren Micah and Evelyn. Family and friends are invited to Dorothy's Visitation Thursday July 5th from 10:00-11:20 AM at Notre Dame deLourdes Church 950 Michigan Ave. Swarthmore, Pa followed by her 11:30 AM Funeral Mass.
