Dorothea June Dever

Dorothea June Dever “Dottie”, 52, of Downingtown, PA, passed away September 16, 2026.

Born August 15, 1974 in Drexel Hill, PA, she was a daughter of the late James R. and Amelia (nee Archer) Maxwell.

Dottie earned her RN from Roxborough School of Nursing and her BSN from Penn State University. She worked at Lankenau Hospital for over 25 years.

Dottie loved spending time with her family, supporting and cheering on her children in everything they did — she never missed an event. She enjoyed traveling, and especially loved warm, sunny places where she could have her toes in the sand or quietly float the day away on salty waters. Dottie took great joy in baking and decorating sweet treats for her loved ones — always her own worst critic, though she was quite good at it. She loved laughing with her friends. And she loved being a cardiothoracic ICU nurse.

Dottie was the beloved wife of almost 29 years of David A. Dever, Jr.; loving mother of Jason, Aidan, and Olivia; and dear sister of James R. Maxwell, Jr. (Tracy) and Susan A. Maxwell. She will also be dearly missed by her dog, Lola.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 10, 2026 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382, followed by her Memorial Service at 2:00 PM.
