Doris Avery

Doris M. Avery, 87, of Swarthmore, Pa passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 19, 2017. She was born in St. Gallen, Switzerland to the late Johannes and Margharetta (nee Schweri) Klaus and was the beloved wife of the late George Avery. Doris was a longtime resident of Swarthmore and had a close connection to Swarthmore College where her late husband George worked. She was a ceramist, loved gardening, reading, knitting, traveling and was a ceramist. She had many friends in Swarthmore and around the world and will be dearly missed. She is survived by her loving children Christine (Doug) Hildebrandt and Nicholas (Alexandra) Klaus, grandchildren Katlynn and Geoffrey and her brother Kurt, as well as many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held and announced at a later date.
