Donna Iacobone

DONNA IACOBONE, 92 of Coatesville and West Chester, passed away peacefully in her home, Friday October 21, 2022.

She was born in 1930 in Essington, PA to the late Robert and Margaret Sweeney. In addition to her parent’s she was preceded in death by her husband Arthur A. Iacobone and her sister Eugene Francis (Sweeney) McCartney.

Donna grew up in Essington before she married Art and they moved to West Chester where they spent 49 years raising their family. In 2015, they moved to West Caln Township to live closer to their children. As a wife, Donna, showed her family what is meant by saying, “in sickness and health”, by caring for her husband for 15 years before his passing.

A much-loved experience in their lives were the times spent with family on vacations camping, stay in the mountain house or their summer home in Delaware. Donna was a devoted Mother and Friend to many. Donna’s greatest joy in her life was her 10 Grandchildren. She and Art participated in every Grandchild activity possible from day one of their lives. Happily, Donna was able to know her first born Great Grandson (Malcolm) before her passing. 

A cherished tradition for Donna (and Art) was the “Iacobone” Christmas where she was surrounded by her Children, Sons & Daughter in-laws, Grandchildren: this was her “Heaven on Earth” moment in time.

Donna was a passionate beloved Dog owner. They had many dogs over their life together who filled their life with unconditional love. Donna’s last dog, Carlos, was beside her side when she passed.

Donna is survived by children Gregory Iacobone and wife Peggy, Kathleen (Iacobone) Redmond and husband Rick, Bryon Iacobone, Donna (Iacobone) Miller and husband Eric. Grandchildren Jesse, Joshua, Jayme, and Jodie Redmond; Kira (Iacobone) Flynn and husband Kevin, Vincent, and Adrianna Iacobone, Ryon Miller, Marlee (Miller) Stumm and husband Thomas, Madison Miller and Great Grandson, Malcolm Stumm. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2022, 1:30PM at Hopewell United Methodist Church, 852 Hopewell Road, Downingtown, PA 19335.
