Donna J. Hodgson, 79, of Coatesville, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2026, with her loving husband and son, Scott by her side.
Born on August 24, 1946, in Narberth, Pennsylvania, Donna was the daughter of the late Tom Rafferty and Evelyn Pyzanowoski. She was the beloved wife of William "Stacy" Hodgson just shy of fifty six years.
Donna spent most of her life in the greater Philadelphia area and graduated from Penn State University. She began her teaching career in Harrisburg before spending the majority of her career with the Coatesville Area School District. As both an educator and a mother, Donna believed that education, kindness, and good manners were among life's greatest gifts. She instilled these values in her three sons and touched the lives of countless students throughout her years in the classroom.
Donna was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her loving husband, William "Stacy" Hodgson; her sons, John Hodgson and his wife, Clara Flores, and their sons, Zander and Teo; Scott Hodgson and his wife, Becky Hodgson; and William "Stacy" Hodgson Jr. and his wife, Julia Hodgson, and their children, Vivian and Declan.
Donna had a sweet tooth that was well known by those who loved her. She especially enjoyed chocolate, Tasty-kakes, white pizza, and cheesesteaks from Jack's. She loved gathering with family and friends for dinners out. Reservations was her preferred cooking method. Donna also enjoyed playing Canasta, reading, watching movies, and, above all, spending time with her beloved grandchildren and her kitty Pepper.
Donna will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, gentle spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her love, guidance, and the memories she created will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
In accordance with Donna's wishes, no public viewing or funeral service will be held. Her family will honor and celebrate her life privately.
