Donald W. Much, 80, of Media, Pennsylvania, passed away on August 31, 2024.
Born in Philadelphia in 1944, he was the son of the late Jacob and Elizabeth (née Donnelly) Much.
Donald was active in high school athletics, lettering in wrestling.
He graduated from Penncrest High School in 1962 and Saint Joseph’s University in 1972 with a B.S. in Business Administration.
Donald was a successful business owner in Delaware County, Pennsylvania and Ogle County, Illinois, owning and operating a recreation sales company and a manufacturing plant, respectively, for many years.
Donald was a voracious reader, enjoying books on many different topics, including history, politics, current events, and cooking. Donald was also an exceptional chef and was a cook in the Delaware National Guard from 1967 to 1971. Over the years, his favorite dishes to prepare were Irish stew, spaghetti and meatballs, home-made soups, and pizzas. Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter dinners will not be the same without him.
Donald was the beloved husband of Theresa Much (née Walker); the loving father of Dr. Meredith Much and Donnell Much, Esq. He was also the devoted brother of Dr. Mandell Much, the late Priscilla Elko (Albert), the late Deborah Jones (Sterling), Samuel Much (Linda) and Elizabeth Horrocks.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing, Saturday, September 14, 2024, 10:00 to 11:00 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, 610-353-6300, followed by his Funeral Service, 11:00 AM. Interment will be held at the Edgewood Memorial Park, Glen Mills, Pennsylvania.
Contributions in his memory to Media Providence Friends School (“Media Friends”) located at 125 W. 3rd Street, Media, PA 19063, would be greatly appreciated. Media Friends is a school that Donald greatly admired and respected.
