Donald A. Marshall, 93, of Wynnewood, PA, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was lovingly known to all friends and family as "Don."

Don was born to the late Louis and Dorothy (Kaplan) Markovitz on February 25, 1930, in Philadelphia, PA. He graduated from Camden High School, second in his class, and received a degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania on a Navy ROTC scholarship. He then served for three years as an officer in the Navy during the Korean War, spending most of his time as a minesweeping officer. After his honorable discharge, he went on to work at Arthur Andersen as a certified public accountant. As part of the GI Bill, he enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He practiced law for over 50 years, most of which he spent in his own practice as a plaintiff lawyer specializing in asbestos. He took pride in his ability to help over a thousand clients and their families receive significant settlements, many of whom passed away from mesothelioma cancer.

Don married the love of his life, Kathleen Marshall (nee Campbell), who survives him. He is also survived by his loving children, Kimberly Kendall (Bryan), David Marshall (Taylor), and Jonathan Marshall. He is the proud grandfather of Connor, Taylor, and Alexander Kendall. He is also survived by his niece, Priscilla, and nephews, Charles and Douglas. He was predeceased by his older brother, Bernard Markovitz, and his mother-in-law, Kathleen Campbell (nee Schiller).

Don was known for his love of astronomy. Upon retirement, he pursued a great passion of his by auditing several astronomy courses at Villanova University. He read many books on the topic for his own personal leisure. His family and friends were always impressed by his vast knowledge of many scientific topics.

He was a long-time member of The Union League of Philadelphia, where he enjoyed participating in the glee club and dance club. There, he made many close friends. He enjoyed spending time with his family at many of The Union League properties, including The Guard House, Union League National, and The Bungalow. Don enjoyed spending his summers at his beach home in Avalon, NJ, where he could be seen riding his bike several miles most days. He was also known to sing Frank Sinatra songs during karaoke nights at various restaurants in Stone Harbor.

Don had a charismatic personality and an infectious sense of humor. He loved meeting people and left a lasting mark on those who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will continue to grow as his memory is celebrated.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at the Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA (610) 353-6300, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Interment: SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
