November 19, 1932 — July 16, 2023

West Chester

Dolores E. Learn, 90, of West Chester, PA, passed away on July 16th, 2023, surrounded by loved ones.

She had a deep faith in God and cherished her family, especially being with them during holidays and birthdays.

Born November 19, 1932, in Cambridge Springs, PA, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Jessie (née Cykoski) Kolin, and the beloved wife of the late Marshall L. Learn; loving mother of Brian Learn, Halle Ruane (John), and Kevin Learn (Karen); adoring grandmother of Jake Ruane, Abby Ruane, Nicole Learn, Natalee Learn, Max Learn, and Lindsey Learn; and dear sister of Carol Shaffer. She was predeceased by her sister, Alberta Petty, and her brother, Col. Raymond Kolin.

Dolores grew up in Olean, NY, where she attended Olean High School, and later on a two year college. Her first job was as a phone operator for Bell Telephone.

Dolores was an active member of Whitford Country Club, where she played ladies’ 9-hole golf, and was involved with the Garden Club; she was also a member of Applebrook County Club and Hershey’s Mill Country Club. She was a big proponent of health and fitness and spent many hours at The McDermotts Club and the Exton Mall SPA.

She enjoyed helping out during lunch in her children’s schools, taught CCD, and educated the accelerated learning students at Uwchlan Hills Elementary School.

Dolores attended Saints Philip and James Church of Exton, PA, and Church of the Savior of Wayne, PA, where she enthusiastically volunteered her care of infants at Community Bible Study. She later attended Springton Lake Presbyterian Church of Newtown Square, PA. She volunteered her time at the food kitchen of St. Agnes Parish, Chester County Hospital, and multiple consignment shops.

Dolores loved the many vacations taken by her and Marshall, their winters in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and dining out with friends and family.

She will be missed but is finally at home with her God.

Services are TBA.
