Dikeeta Brown Dove

Dikeeta Brown Dove, a devoted social worker and cherished wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, departed this life on July 19, 2026, at the age of 48. Born on March 25, 1978, Dikeeta was the beloved daughter of Gwendolyn and the late Baron Jackson. Her early years in Maryland laid the foundation for a life committed to compassion, before she returned to Philadelphia to attend Kensington High School. Dikeeta's unwavering dedication to helping others guided her pursuits, leading to a Bachelor's degree from West Chester University in 2000, and a Master of Social Work from Temple University in 2003.

Throughout her esteemed career, Dikeeta served as a social worker at Abington Hospital, Health Partners, Lankenau Hospital, Action AIDS, and the Office of Intellectual Disabilities. In each role, she was not only a steadfast advocate for her clients, many in profound crisis, but also a respected colleague and champion for her peers, particularly women. Her caring nature extended beyond her profession into community volunteerism, showcasing her kindness and generosity.

Dikeeta's curiosity and creativity were boundless. She was a master crocheter and seamstress, crafting masks for loved ones during the early pandemic days. Her artistic spirit shone through painting and gardening, with lilies as her favorite blossoms. An aficionado of fashion, Dikeeta delighted in transforming finds into unique expressions of style. On her adventures, she led with enthusiasm, creating unforgettable memories for those around her.

Surrounded by friends and family, she cherished her life’s interactions, especially with her best friend Tracie and cherished niece Laquesha. At the heart of her life was her daughter, Genesis, with whom she shared countless joys, from simple pleasures like ice cream to special moments with their beloved pets, Nefi, MJ, and Lucas. Dikeeta was Genesis's unwavering supporter, teaching through example a life of care and empathy.

In 2018, she found love with Kareem Dove, a bond founded on mutual respect and friendship. As their relationship blossomed, she embraced his children with open arms. Their union in 2024 marked the celebration of a profound, shared love, a testament to their devoted companionship.

Dikeeta leaves behind a legacy cherished by her husband Kareem, daughter Genesis, mother Gwendolyn, bonus children Laquesha, Jalen, and Jaliya, along with siblings Shar’ron, Shelly, BJ, and Man Man, and an extended family of colleagues and friends. Her memory is a blessing to all who knew her, and her life serves as a beacon of love, strength, and beauty, inspiring us to honor her legacy in the lives we touch.

Family and friends are invited to Dikeeta’s Viewing 10:00-11:00 AM on Friday, July 31st at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082, followed by her Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at West Laurel Hill Cemetery, Bala Cynwyd, PA.
