Deborah M. Fritz (nee Hopper), age 73 of Upper Darby, PA, formerly of Glenolden passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 24, 2026.
Born in Darby, Debbie was the second of four children born to the late Dennis Jack and Rose Marie (nee Novielli) Hopper. She graduated from Archbishop Prendergast High School in 1971. She started her professional career as a secretary in Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia and worked at Upper Darby High School as a Center Secretary for 25 years. She was a life member and served as Secretary and President of the Cardington Stonehurst Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She was a big Philadelphia Eagles fan, loved spending time at the Jersey shore (North Wildwood) every summer with her family, and was the world’s number one shopper. She was a great cook, music lover, and avid reader. She had the biggest heart and worried about everyone. Her classy, timeless style will be missed forever!
Deborah is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, Francis W. Fritz; children, Jennifer Westrope (John) and Brian D. Fritz (Kelly); grandchildren; Nathan, Erica, and Rosie; and her sisters, Lynn Ann Lawler (Christopher) and Julia R. Crowell (Daniel). She is predeceased by her brother, Nicholas J. Hopper (surv. Pauletta). She is also survived by aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to Deborah’s viewing on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Thursday, April 30, 2026 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA followed by Mass at 1:00 PM at St. Laurence Church, 8245 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Deborah’s name to the Cardington Fire House, 350 Harrison Ave, Upper Darby Township, PA 19082.
