Davy Rodriguez

Davy “Dave” Rodriguez, age 64, of Bel Air, MD, passed away on August 9, 2021. Born in Newark, NJ, he was the son of the late Pablo Rivera and Paula Rodriguez (nee Montanez).

Dave’s interests included listening to music, particularly salsa music!  He loved to watch old vintage boxing matches on YouTube and had an affinity for watching and collecting action movies. He loved history and could speak in depth about topics ranging from NASA’s Apollo Missions or about John F. Kennedy’s Presidency, whom he admired. His hobbies consisted of constructing classic model cars and collecting hats. He had a mechanical mind that loved to problem solve and never turned down the opportunity to help and work on cars for family and friends. Dave took great pride in his own car, keeping it clean and polished and running flawlessly.

He appreciated many of the simple pleasures of life, such as going to the movies, flea markets, eating out or enjoying a simple home cooked meal. He loved connecting with family via Facebook or phone calls or weekend visits. Dave was laid back and chill, enjoying his time alone as much as he enjoyed sharing with family. He was kind and compassionate, willing to give the shirt off his back to family and friends. He had a great sense of humor which he would fully display with family. He was punctual and loyal and always kept his promises. He was a good father, a good brother, and good friend.

Dave was the loving father of Dave Rodriguez (Yolanda) and Sonia Rodriguez; caring grandfather of Julia Rodriguez; devoted brother of Ed Rodriguez, Irene Rodriguez, Rene Rodriguez (Idalia), Roberto Rodriguez (Kimberly), Evelyn DeSimone (Jules), and Jose Rodriguez. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
