David T. Pye, 78, of Aldan, PA passed away on June 4, 2021.
David was born and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Widener University in Chester, PA, with honors. He then joined the Philadelphia office of Price Waterhouse where he had a distinguished career in accounting and taxation. He subsequently held senior finance positions in international corporate taxation with Syntex Corporation, a major international pharmaceuticals company, Logitech, Inc., the world leader in computer mouse technology and the developer of other major computer peripherals, and West Marine, Inc., the world’s largest boating supply company. David served in the Delaware Army National Guard for six years. David also served on the board of directors of the San Francisco Chapter of Tax Executives Institute in various capacities for approximately twenty years. He also served as chapter president, and he received the Institute’s meritorious service award for many years of outstanding service. David was also an avid yachtsman and served as commodore of the Barbary Coast Boating Club, a major San Francisco yacht club. After relocating to Palm Springs, CA, in 2006, David became active in many organizations, including Prime Timers, the Seven Lakes Country Club, the Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce, the Desert Business Association and many others. In 2010 David joined Keller Williams Realty in Palm Springs and, in the process, fulfilled a long-held desire to live and work in the desert and become a Realtor.
David is survived by his sister Grace Fitzgibbon and her husband Tom of Aldan, Pennsylvania, his niece Jennifer Kirsch and her husband Jon and great niece Lana Marie of Sewell, New Jersey, his former wife, Lavinia Asay of Scottsdale, AZ, and many other family members, loved ones and friends. David is predeceased by his parents David and Grace (nee Dale) Pye.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at The Knoetgen-Donohue Funeral Home, at 746 Kedron Avenue, Morton, PA 19070, (610)-544-0600, followed by his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Interment Service at Edgewood Memorial Park, Glen Mills, PA.
