David J. Inman, Ph.D., born on March 22, 1949, in Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026. A distinguished Clinical Psychologist who served with dedication at the Coatesville VA, Dr. Inman’s professional legacy reflects a profound commitment to the mental health and well-being of veterans. His career was marked not only by his expertise but also by the compassion and empathy he extended to all those he supported.
Beyond his vital work, David was a man of many passions and talents. He found great joy and fulfillment in underwater photography, capturing the mysterious and vibrant world beneath the waves with clarity and artistry. His love for adventure and the natural world was evident in his avid participation in backpacking, sailing, and scuba diving. A devoted reader, he nurtured a lifelong love of learning and exploration, both intellectually and physically, which enriched his life immeasurably.
David’s life was founded on strong family ties and cherished relationships. He is survived by his children, Eric C. Inman and Jessica L. Blyler, along with Jessica’s husband, Joseph. He took great pride and joy in his grandchild, Evelyn Blyler, who carried forward his spirit and curiosity. His brother, Thomas Inman, and Thomas’s wife Alla, as well as his niece Katya, remain close family who shared in his many life experiences. David’s former wife, Linda Inman, is also among those who remember him with respect and affection. He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Henry and Dorothy (nee Dann) Inman, whose memories live on in his heart.
A Viewing to honor and remember Dr. Inman will be held on May 29, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at The Donohue Funeral Home, 366 West Lancaster Ave, Wayne, PA 19087, followed by his Funeral Service beginning at 11:30 a.m. at Washington Memorial Chapel, 2000 Valley Forge Park Road, King of Prussia, PA 19406. Both events provide an opportunity for those who knew David to pay their respects and celebrate his impactful life.
David J. Inman’s legacy is one of profound professional contribution, adventurous spirit, and enduring love for his family. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his memory will continue to inspire.
