David Charles Imperiale

David Charles Imperiale, passed away suddenly on February 25, 2023 just having celebrated his 80th birthday surrounded by his closest friends and family. 

Born on February 16th 1943, he was the son of the late Carmen Charles, MD and Etta Grace (nee Foreman) Imperiale. David attended St. Francis De Sales and West Catholic High School before he served honorably and proudly in the US Marine Corps. 

David met the true love of his life at age 14, Saretta “Cookie” Imperiale and they married in 1966. He was the proud father of Max Weisman (Sharon), Kimberley Imperiale, Lisa Imperiale, and Amy Imperiale Sweeney (Tony); loving grandfather of Jessica, Jaclyn, Jackson, Eva, Charlie, Benjamin, and Isabel and great-grandfather of Ryder, Grace, and Haley; beloved baby brother of Joan Shanks (Donald) and the late Jean Costello (the late Edward); also survived by his nieces and nephews. 

David was raised in West Philadelphia and Atlantic City surrounded by his many cousins, aunts and uncles. He loved the ocean and spending time with his family on the beach and fishing with friends, sunrise to sunset. He was an avid music lover and drummer and passionate Philadelphia Flyers fan. He appreciated the simple things and looked forward to his martini and cigar on the patio at sunset. David and Cookie could often be found playing poker with their friends at home or in the Atlantic City Casinos. 

Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 9:30-10:30 AM Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Nativity BVM Church, 30 E. Franklin Street, Media, PA 19063, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM. Interment private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Gift of Life, 401 N. Third Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123, would be appreciated.
