Daniel Ollice

September 27, 1950 — March 19, 2020

Daniel Thomas Ollice, 69, of West Chester, Pa., passed away Thursday, March 19, 2020 at his home.

He was born in Arlington, Va., on Sept. 27, 1950, the son of the late John and Doris (nee Newbold) Ollice. He was preceded in death by his brother, Tim; his nephew, John Winston Barrett; and his father- and mother-in-law, Winston Hill Waring and Dorothy Edna (nee Black) Waring.

Dan received his college degree from Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, N.C., and went on to have a very successful career in pharmaceutical sales, first at A.H. Robins and later as a national sales director at Novartis.

Dan grew up in Portsmouth, Va. As a child, he had a paper route and later worked at Seventh Ward Pharmacy, where he enjoyed making milkshakes at the bar after his shifts.

Dan had the unique ability of making everyone feel special, and that he really cared about everything going on in their lives. He demonstrated this caring heart especially to those he knew were struggling in life.

His enthusiasm for life was contagious, and he shared this positive outlook with anyone he met. You couldn’t help but feel better after a conversation with Dan.

Dan was a devoted fan of the Washington Redskins, and he was never happier than when he was at the family beach cottage on the Outer Banks, planning his next project. He loved traveling and was always eager to share his excitement about the next scheduled adventure with family and friends. Anyone traveling with Dan benefited from his amazing knowledge of history, which so often surpassed that of the tour guide.

Dan is survived by his loving wife, Rita; his children, Tom Ollice and wife Krysten of West Chester, Pa., Lindsay Ollice of Arlington, Va., and Katie Ollice of Arlington, Va.; his precious grandson, Cameron; his sister, Jane Ollice and husband Bob Lathrop of Richmond, Va.; his brother, Paul Ollice and wife Rebecca of Santa Maria, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.

Due to the coronavirus, a private burial took place Saturday, March 21. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Prostate Cancer Foundation at this link: https://join.pcf.org/memorials/memorial/remembering-danniel-ollice; or a charity of your choice.
