Daniel Patrick McFadden, beloved husband, father, grandfather, loving partner, brother and friend, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026. He was the devoted husband for 46 years of the late Marietta Contino, and his legacy lives on through his four children and ten cherished grandchildren.
Daniel was born and raised in Philadelphia, the youngest of five children of Irish immigrant parents Michael McFadden and Mary McNulty McFadden. He graduated from West Catholic High School for Boys in 1955 and continued his education at Villanova University, earning a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering in 1959. Daniel dedicated 35 years of his career to Westinghouse Corporation, where he was respected for his commitment and expertise.
Dan was a former parishioner at SS. Peter & Paul in West Chester, PA, St. Christopher’s in Chester, MD, and a Knights of Columbus member. He also spent the last eight years in an online spiritual community.
Dan owned a home in Ocean City, New Jersey for nearly fifty years. He served as Marshall of the Baby Parade, joined Night in Venice, and ran the Captain Bill Gallagher 10-Mile Sea Isle Beach Run. Dan cheered his family as they followed his fitness interests. He was part of the Northern Chesapeake Sailing Club and enjoyed sailing in Maryland. His pasta-making skills were appreciated by his family, and his warmth and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone.
Dan is survived by his children: Daniel McFadden II (Donna Mortimer), Mary Beth Fritz (Tom), Therese Wells (Mike), and Julie Bailey (Dave). His grandchildren are Colleen, Danny, and Bridget McFadden; Thomas Fritz; Megan (Johnny Casterline), Michael (Caroline Sinz), and Lauren Wells; Gillian, Colin, and Kate Bailey.
