Daniel T. McCartney

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Daniel “Dan” T. McCartney, who passed away, unexpectedly, on April 23, 2026, at age 54.

Born in Bryn Mawr in 1970, he was the son of the late Joseph J. and Kathleen (Schell) McCartney.

Dan was a devoted brother, loving uncle, and gentle caring presence in the lives of people who knew him best. He was known to check in regularly with friends and colleagues just to see how they were doing. He was a fervent Philly sports fan who reveled in the wins and cursed the losses. He shared a special bond with his siblings. He was a devoted uncle, who took great pride and joy in his nieces and nephews, always showing up with support, humor, and great generosity. He was especially connected to his new great niece, Sophia.

Dan is survived by his siblings and their spouses, Kathleen McCartney, Kelly (Dave) Anthony, Maureen McCartney, Joanne (Jim) Lawrence and Kevin (Kathy) McCartney as well as his cherished nieces and nephews Katelyn Anthony, Kelly (Jason) Fallara, Michael Anthony, Jessica Anthony, Joseph McCartney, Darren (Julie) Whitelock, and Emily Lawrence.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 10:30-11:30 AM Wednesday, April 29, 2026 and to his Funeral Mass 11:30 AM at SS Simon & Jude Church, 8 Cavanaugh Ct, West Chester, PA. Inurnment St. Denis Cemetery, Havertown, PA.
