Daniel Knaebel

Daniel J. Knaebel, 91, of Aldan, Pa passed away on February 11, 2018. He was the son of the late Daniel J. and Catherine M. (nee Britt) Knaebel). He was also pre-deceased by his daughter Kathleen Knaebel, grandson Joshua Walvick and brothers Edward and Joseph Knaebel. Daniel was born in Philadelphia. Once he graduated from high school he went on to college and received his Bachelor's Degree. He worked 30 years for ARCO, first as an Accountant and then as a Quality Control Lab Analyst. He had also served his country proudly in the US Navy during WWII as an Aviation Radioman and Tail Gunner. Daniel was an avid fisherman and loved going to Cape May Point. He especially loved boating and salt water fishing. He loved to tinker around the house, crafted bird houses, made fishing lures,was an avid reader and liked to watch historical programs from his favorite recliner. What he enjoyed most was spending time with his loving family. Daniel was a very gentle and pious man, was a devout Catholic, a parishioner at St. Joseph's Church in Collingdale as long as he was able, He had an affinity for children, especially the orphaned and infirmed. He met life on on life's terms and always sought the positive aspects under any circumstances. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years Eleanor R. (nee McCrohan) Knaebel, loving children Marleen Brown-Knaebel, Eileen Walvick, and granddaughter Tiffany Walvick. Family and friends are invited to his Visitation 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM Monday February 19, 2018 followed immediately by his Funeral Service at Knoetgen-Donohue Funeral Home 746 Kedron Ave. Morton, Pa 19070 Int: SS Peter & Paul Cemetery In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Daniel's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105
