Daniel P. Tennity, 72, of Havertown, PA, passed away March 7, 2024. Beloved son of the late Kenneth W. and Mary Ellen (nee O’Loughlin) Tennity.
Daniel is survived his loving partner, Patti Hunt. Dan is also survived by his dear siblings; Lawrence Tennity, Kathleen Lanctot (Dexter), Sr. Mary Ellen Tennity IHM, Michael Tennity (Margaret), Eileen Tennity, Gerald Tennity; Sister-in-Law, Joan Tennity; Many beloved nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. Dan was predeceased by his brothers, Kenneth Tennity and Bernard Tennity.
Dan is the 3rd oldest of 9 children. Born in Rochester, NY and grew up in Havertown, PA. Graduated from Annunciation BVM Class of 65 and Monsignor Bonner High School Class of 69.
Dan worked over 30 years insulating commercial buildings. First for his father and then for his brother in Delco and throughout the city.
Dan was an avid bowler in three leagues. He went from bowling a game of 88 when he first started to bowling two 300 games.
He had a quick wit about him where some referred to him as a turtle. A few minutes later you would realize the joke was about you. Too late to respond. He would then go back in his shell and walk away quietly.
He had a knack for useless trivia and could provide Eagles and Phillies commentary even before the TV announcers said it. Dan was fortunate enough to attend the Phillies World Series in 2008.
He enjoyed cruises, visiting the Jersey Shore and his Wawa coffee and not necessarily in that order.
Relatives and family are invited to Daniel’s viewing, Thursday, March 14 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, Pa. There will be a second viewing Friday, March 15 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at St. John Neumann Parish, 380 Highland Lane, Bryn Mawr, PA followed by his funeral mass at 10:30 AM.
