Colin Hobyak of Radnor, PA, passed away suddenly on December 30, 2024. 

Born and raised in Radnor Township, Pa, Colin was the beloved and cherished son of Lisa (nee Helmkamp) and Michael Hobyak. He was not only the brother, but also the lifelong friend and confidante of his older sister Ryann Hobyak, and younger brother Jason Hobyak. When Jason married his wife, Fiona (née Maley), Colin felt so fortunate to gain a sister-in-law, and loved being an uncle to their children, Finnley, Poppy, and Luke. His proudest role of all, however, was being a father to his two children, son Hudson Michael Hobyak (7) and daughter Harper Lee Hobyak (4), whom he shared with Megan Musser of Wayne, PA. Whether he was shooting hoops or reading books with Hudson, or acting as Harper's assistant as they gave her dolls and "stuffies" haircuts, makeovers, and checkups, every minute he spent with them filled him with joy, and they absolutely adored their dad. Colin is also survived and dearly missed by his grandmother Janice "Mimi" Helmkamp (nee Blevins) of Virginia Beach, VA, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and large extended family.

Colin attended West Virginia University, and was a Mountaineer for life. He was whip smart and loved to learn; he and his sister would spend hours discussing history, movies, and books. He also had a wide variety of hobbies and interests that reflected his curious and passionate nature. He enjoyed hands-on projects, which he and his mom would often do together as they talked through things on his mind. A gifted musician, he especially excelled as a drummer, and loved to jam with his dad. He was an avid golfer and many a Sunday could be found golfing with his brother at Overbrook Golf Club, where he was a member. Colin was well traveled from an early age; many of his fondest memories were from family vacations both as a child, and later with his own children. Colin was charismatic, loyal, and kind, with a great sense of fun. He deeply valued his friends and cherished the connections he made throughout his life. Those who loved him most will remember a brilliant, spiritual soul with an amazing heart whose mischievous smile and uniquely silly sense of humor always made them laugh. Our time with Colin was a true gift and he will be deeply missed. Through his children, Hudson and Harper, his love, kindness and joy live on.

Relatives and friends are invited to come to a greeting with the family from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM on Friday, January 10, 2024 at Wayne Presbyterian Church, followed by a Celebration of Colin's life at 10:30 AM. Interment private. Luncheon to follow services. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Colin's memory to Peter's Place, a non profit center for grieving children and families, petersplaceonline.org, would be appreciated.
