Christopher Martin Edward Victory, 70, of West Chester, PA passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born in Harold Hill, England on October 20, 1954, Chris was the beloved son of the late Reginald and Clara Victory and grew up with his three siblings, Jean, Peter, and Paul. Chris loved to travel and met his wife, Kate, while working in Chicago. They lived in Belgium and England before settling in New Jersey. Though he eventually made his home in the U.S., Chris never lost touch with his roots. He cherished his visits back to England, reconnecting with family over a proper cup of tea and a game of football (never “soccer” in his vocabulary.”)
A skilled computer programmer and consultant, Chris spent his career solving problems and building systems that helped others. His final role at Christiana Care Hospital was especially meaningful to him, as he took pride in writing code that supported patient care. Chris had an innate desire to make things better—whether it was a complicated software issue or simply someone’s day.
Outside of work, Chris was a passionate supporter of all things soccer. Whether it was his favorite team, West Ham United, his children’s teams, or watching his grandchildren kick around in the backyard, he was the ultimate fan. He committed many years to coaching and developing the Mount Laurel United Soccer Club. Chris also loved history, travel, and exploring new places. He captured his travel and his contagious passion for adventure with his enjoyment of photography. Chris found peace in simple pleasures like strolling through gardens, hiking in the woods, and listening to music. Most importantly, Chris cherished time with family. He and his wife, Kate, were married for 44 years. His support for his children was never-ending, and his greatest joy was to be Granddad to Michael and Elena.
Chris was a constant source of happiness for those around him. He went out of his way to help others. Whether it be by volunteering for causes he believed in or participating in simple, every day acts of kindness, Chris gave generously of his time and made lasting impacts on his communities.
Chris will be remembered for his unwavering kindness, his quick and clever humor, and his dedication to his family. He was a devoted husband, a supportive father, a proud Granddad, and a loyal friend.
Chris is survived by his wife, Kate Victory, children, Kelly Anne Chaknos (Mike) and Brendan Victory, and grandchildren, Michael and Elena.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 4, 2025 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382, followed by his Memorial Service at 11:00 AM.
