Christopher Kirkman Rowland

Christopher Kirkman Rowland, longtime resident of Swarthmore, PA, beloved husband, friend, and esteemed member of the community, sadly passed away on August 9, 2025, at the age of 38.

Born on June 24, 1987 in Langhorne, PA, he was the son of James and Sally-Anne (nee Sandy) Rowland.

Chris worked as a wholesaler in financial services, where he found joy in connecting with people from all walks of life. His professional journey took him to dynamic cities like Chicago and New York City, where he met the love of his life, Kerrianne. Their romance blossomed quickly, culminating in a proposal within a year of their meeting.

After their engagement, Chris brought Kerrianne back to Philadelphia, and eventually to his beloved hometown of Swarthmore. It was there that Chris introduced Kerrianne to The Springhaven Club, a place dear to his heart and a testament to his dreams. As a teenager, he had caddied there and had promised himself that he would become a member of this cherished club once he "made it."

Outside of his career, Chris was an avid traveler, sharing countless adventures with Kerrianne across the Central American Islands and Europe, creating memories that enriched their lives and bond. His appreciation for life was reflected in his hobbies; he loved both baseball and golf, dedicating countless hours to these passions.

In his final months, Chris celebrated significant achievements, including a second "hole in one" during a memorable round of glow golf, and a victory at the Sadie Hawkins Tournament, milestones that he embraced with joy and enthusiasm.

Chris’ legacy will live on in all those who survive him: his beloved wife Kerri, his parents Sally-Anne and Jim, his brother Robert and his family in Japan, his aunts, uncle, cousins, and the countless others that he touched in his short but astoundingly brilliant life.

A Celebration of Life in honor of Chris will take place on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at The Springhaven Club, in Wallingford, PA, beginning at 12:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to gather at this meaningful location to remember and celebrate a life so well lived.
