Christina M. Gariano (nee Aprile), age 96, a 60 year resident of Newtown Square, PA, passed away on March 20, 2018.
Born in New York, NY, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Assunta (nee Passinallo) Aprile.
During WW II, Christina worked for the Defense Department. She was also affiliated with the Knights of Columbus - Women's Council. Christina enjoyed painting and crocheting, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Christina was the beloved wife of William F. Gariano, the loving mother of William J. Gariano, Nora A. Gariano, and Thomas A. Gariano (Judy). She was the devoted grandmother of Lori Wilkenson and Stephanie Gariano-Slawter; and great grandmother of Alyssa, Ethan, Jason, Brandon, Jr., Aidan, Aleah, and Carmine. Christina was the dear sister of Robert Aprile and Clara Valitutto and was predeceased by her granddaughter, Traci Sachs and stepfather, Umberto Scorrano.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation, Saturday, March 31, 2018, 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM followed by her Memorial Service 12:00 PM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, 610-353-6300. Interment private.
