Charles F. "Chalie" Santore, age 89, formerly of Upper Darby, PA, a successful businessman, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2021.
Charles was an Army veteran who proudly served in the Company F 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment, stationed in Augsburg, Germany after World War II. He was self-employed as the owner of a taxi cab with United Cab in Upper Darby, PA. Mr. Santore enjoyed hunting in Coudersport, Potter County, PA. He also enjoyed spending time in Atlantic City and Cape May, NJ, and loved horse racing at Philadelphia Park. He loved listening to music, especially his late friend, Skippy Devine. He loved to watch Eagles games with his daughters.
Mr. Santore was the son of the late Orlando Santore and Josephine Santore (nee Ventureno). He was the dear husband of the late Jeanne (nee O'Hara) and the father of Mary, Lisa, Aimee and the late Charles Santore and sibling of the late William, the late Mary Doherty, the late Frances Colon and the late Patricia Macomber.
Survived by his daughters, Mary Santore Gillen, Lisa Fraser (Michael) and Aimee Santore. He will be missed by his loving grandchildren Brandon, Jonathan and Jeanne Mancini, and great-granddaughter Miya. Also survived by his siblings, Orlando "Jim", Frank and Rita and many other nieces and nephews. Special mention to his neighbors, Nancy and Chris Foley, especially his nieces and nephew, Leia Favano, Bobby DeCarlo and Debra Daly.
