Charles T. Callaghan

Charles T. Callaghan, affectionately known as Chuck, passed away on February 24, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on May 4, 1951, Chuck grew up in Drexel Hill, PA, where he cultivated a love for his community and treasured relationships with family and friends.

Chuck attended St. Charles Borromeo School for elementary school and went on to attend Monsignor Bonner High School. He was a passionate sports fan who enjoyed cheering on his favorite teams, the Eagles and the Phillies.

In his younger years, Chuck enjoyed playing golf and cards. He found great joy in visiting Sea Isle City, NJ. Chuck had a natural inclination towards home projects and demonstrated remarkable skills that made him quite handy around the house. Gardening was another passion of his, and he took pride in caring for his lawn, which reflected his commitment to nurturing life and beauty.

A diligent man of many talents, Chuck dedicated his career to the carpet sales and installation industry, a thriving business that he had the honor of owning. With immense pride, he watched as it was entrusted to his beloved son, Kevin, ensuring that the legacy of hard work and dedication he instilled would continue forth. Chuck's spirit resonates through the walls of his business, much to the delight of those who knew him.

At the heart of Chuck’s life was his family. He was deeply connected to his beloved wife, Patricia (nee McKenrick) Callaghan, with whom he shared many cherished moments. He was the loving father of the late Sean Callaghan, Jackie Cybularz (Kevin) and Kevin Callaghan (Fiancé Stephanie), who carry forward his legacy of love and devotion. His grandsons, Kevin, Matthew, and Ryan, brought him immense joy and happiness; he dedicated much of his time to creating memories with them that they will carry throughout their lives. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Chuck is also remembered by his siblings, Joseph, Mary Ellen, George, and Dolores, who will forever hold onto the laughter and fond experiences shared together. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elaine (nee Murphy) Callaghan, and his brothers, John Callaghan and Richard Callaghan (Anita), whose memories he carried with him throughout his life.

Family and friends are invited to Chuck’s Viewing 5:00-7:00 PM on Sunday, March 1, 2026 and 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM on Monday, March 2, 2026 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 3422 Dennison Ave, Drexel Hill, PA 19026. Interment SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.

Chuck's warmth, humor, and dedication to his family and friends will be remembered fondly as we gather to celebrate his life and legacy. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him.
