Charles Burns Jr.

October 15, 1928 — April 11, 2021

On Sunday, April 11th, 2021, Charles A. “Bud” Burns Jr., loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away peacefully at the age of 92.

Charles was born on October 15, 1928 in Philadelphia, PA to Charles A. and Louise (Duffy) Burns Sr. He was the beloved husband of the late Dolores (Guinan) Burns. They raised four wonderful children, three sons, and one daughter.

Bud absolutely loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. They were truly his pride and joy and meant the world to him. He was a proud World War II Navy Veteran. He worked in the Auto Sales business for many years until he worked with his son, Patrick, and his businesses. Bud was known for his quick wit and infectious personality and smile. Whether he had known you for years or had just met you, he always made you feel welcomed and loved. He enjoyed his summers at the beach with his family in Brigantine, NJ. He loved spending time with his close family and friends, almost always leading into some sort of song and dance. Cue the song “On the Way to Cape May”!

Charles was preceded in death by his father, Charles Sr., mother, Louise, wife, Dolores, and sister, Barbara Dodds. He is survived by his four children, Charles A. Burns III (Patti), Mary Lou Russo (Thomas), Daniel P. Burns (Cathy Lynne), Patrick J. Burns (Helen), thirteen grandchildren Jennifer, Michele, Shannon, Colleen, CJ, Tom, Megan, Danny, Kyle, Regina, Craig, Bridget, and Natalie, and fifteen great grandchildren with two more on the way.
