Chacko Thomas

Chacko Thomas was called to rest on March 16, 2022, at the age of 73, surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren by his bedside. 

Chacko who many would know as Mickey was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 1949, he was the son of the late PC Thomas and Marykutty Thomas. He was the beloved husband of Susan P. Chacko; the loving father of Sumin T. Chacko (Louise), Abraham P. Chacko (Jane), and Mat Chacko; caring grandfather of Levi, Lucius, Isabella, and Ethan. He also leaves behind his dear brothers Mathew Thomas and Cherry Thomas. 

He received his high school education from Perumbavoor Mar Thoma School, spent two years in St. Thomas Mar Thoma College in Kozhencherry, and received his Bachelors and Masters in Commerce and Accounting at Jabalpur University. Once moving to the United States he worked in the banking industry.

Mickey was a devoted member of the church assuming various roles throughout the years ranging from Sunday school teacher and youth league representative in Chayal Mar Thoma Church in Ayroor, Sunday School teacher in Philadelphia Mar Thoma Church, committee member, and member of the Mandalayam as part of St Thomas Mar Thomas Church of the Delaware Valley.

His Selfless nature touched the hearts of those he came across. There is no denying his compassion and kindness were infectious to all those who ever encountered him. He loved his family, cousins, and friends dearly. His family was at the core of his heart. His simple joys were to watch his grandchildren play. He will be missed but the genuineness of Mickey’s heart will be felt forever. 

Relatives and Friends are invited to his visitation on Monday, March 21, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and again on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. His funeral service will follow at 10:00 AM, at St. Thomas Marthoma Church of Delaware Valley, 130 Grubb Rd, Malvern, PA 19355. Interment will follow at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery, 1600 S Sproul Rd, Springfield, PA 19064.
