Catherine Patricia "Pat" Walsh

Pat Walsh, of Broomall, PA, passed away on July 24, 2026, at the age of 87.

Pat was born in Philadelphia, the daughter of the late Anthony and Catherine (McFadden) Skivo. She was a graduate of West Catholic Girls High School, and soon after, met the love of her life, Mickey. The two were married for over 50 years. They started their family in West Philadelphia before eventually moving out to the suburbs, first to Havertown, then Thornton and then Broomall.

Pat spent many years as the receptionist at Woodlynde School in Strafford, PA, where she was a familiar, friendly face to generations of students and families. Pat worked well into her late 70s, never one to slow down easily. She was an avid reader, and her Kindle was rarely more than an arm’s reach away. Pat loved the Jersey Shore. Her idea of heaven was spending long summer days on the beach surrounded by family. No special occasion or family vacation was complete without Pat’s meatballs, a secret Skivo family recipe she carried on and loved sharing with those around her.

If you knew Pat, you knew she bled Phillies red and powder blue. She was a die-hard fan of the Philadelphia area's college and pro teams, baseball above all. It is no coincidence her beloved cat carries the name J.T. Real”meow”to, a household MVP in his own right, who had her wrapped firmly around his paw.

Pat loved animals of every kind, not just the four (and three)-legged ones under her own roof. Her yard was a full-service diner for the neighborhood's birds and squirrels, who never had to look far for food or water, no matter the season.

Together with Mickey, Pat co-founded the Haverford Hawks Ice Hockey Club, a project born out of love for family and community that grew into something many kids, especially their own three sons, got to call their own. She also spent years in the world of equestrian sport, not in the saddle herself, but showing up, in support of her daughter Kate's riding pursuits, including leadership roles with the Rose Tree Pony Club.

Pat was a steadfast believer in equal human rights for all. She was the kind of person who made sure the people around her knew exactly where she stood, and all were welcomed at her table.

She was the beloved wife of the late Mickey Walsh, and the loving mother of Harry Walsh (Suzanne), David Walsh (Tracy), Joe Walsh (Gigi), and Kate Walsh (Wayne Smith). She was a devoted grandmother to Tyler (Kelli), Lindsey, Ian (Phoebe), and Madison Walsh. Pat is also survived by her beloved niece, Laurie Skivo Hay, along with many other nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her siblings, William Skivo, Mary Skivo, Anthony Skivo, and Philip Skivo.

Relatives and friends are invited to honor Pat at a Visitation on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM and to her Funeral Service at 12:00 PM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA. Interment private.
