Catherine Donohie (née O’Kane), cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, passed away on October 20, 2025. She is survived by her three children, Therese Carnes (Jeff), Kathleen Mion (Lance), and John Donohie (Tara); six grandchildren, Katie (Carnes) Case, Patrick Carnes, Nicholas Mion, Jillian Mion, Abby Donohie, and PJ Donohie; one great-grandchild, Addie Case; her siblings, Nancy Doyle and Jeannie Brandfass; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul J. Donohie, and her parents, Mary and Patrick O’Kane.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Cathy graduated from West Philadelphia Catholic Girls High School and worked as a stewardess for American Airlines until her marriage to Paul in 1960. Together, they built a wonderful family who will be forever grateful for their loving care and enduring example.
Cathy was known for her unwavering faith and her lifelong devotion to family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her extended family, especially her grandchildren. A constant source of support, she shared her heart and her home with warmth, generosity, and kindness. She loved holidays, baking, and trips down the shore, and could crack crabs with the best of us. Her happy place was always Holly Lake.
A fiercely independent woman, Cathy faced life’s challenges with courage and dignity — a role model for all of us as we learn to find our way forward without her. Her family finds comfort in knowing that Cathy is reunited with Paul and that her spirit lives on in the love she gave so freely.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” – Matthew 25:23
