Carolyn B. Conboy

Carolyn Clara (Baldino) Conboy of Broomall, PA passed away peacefully in her home on November 16, 2023 after a series of micro strokes. Up until the end Carolyn expressed her concern for her family and desire that they care for one another.

Carolyn was born August 6, 1929 to Basil F and Clelia Baldino in South Philadelphia.  After attending Hallihan High School, she went on to Chestnut Hill College and was graduated in 1952 with a degree in Mathematics.  She was active in the Alumnae Association, maintaining a lifelong tie to the school and her friends from Chestnut Hill. While there she got involved in the theatre department where she met and later married James P Conboy, Jr with whom she would often trade Gilbert & Sullivan or Rogers & Hammerstein lyrics.  They had five children: James, Denise, Drew, Cornelius, and Matthew.

Retiring from her position as an insurance actuary she became a stay-at-home mom while her children were young and entered the world of banking once the youngest began school.  She earned her broker’s license and grew with mergers and acquisitions from Fidelity Bank to First Fidelity, First Union, Wachovia, and Wells Fargo.  She retired again in 1995 and moved from Drexel Hill to Broomall where she focused on her garden, sewing, and grandchildren.

Carolyn was predeceased by her husband James P, her brothers Joseph and Gerald Baldino.  She is survived by children James B (Mary Rose), Denise, Drew (Ann), Cornelius (Graccho), Matthew (Gail); grandchildren Brian (Mandy), Jaclyn, Amelia, Kelly (Ryan Rubio), Matthew James, Kimberly, great-grandchildren Anthony, Liam, Jonathan, Rylie, Avery, and Cameron.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation Saturday December 2^nd, 9:30 AM to 10:30AM followed by a 10:30 AM Mass at St Anastasia, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073. Interment at Calvary Cemetery in West Conshohocken, PA.
