Carmen Joseph DiMaggio

Carmen Joseph DiMaggio, 83, of Bryn Mawr, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday March 2, 2025 of natural causes.

Carmen was born in Philadelphia, PA on December, 15 1941 to Mary and Carmen Charles DiMaggio. He attended St. Callistus Grade School, St. Thomas More High School (class of 1959), and St. Joseph's University (class of 1965) in Philadelphia, PA.

On March 19, 1983, Carmen married his beloved wife Linda Bonanno of 42 years, and together they raised their son Paul DiMaggio.

In 1965, Carmen joined the United States Secret Service as a Special Agent and was assigned to the Philadelphia field office where he spent his career investigating financial crimes, protecting presidents and dignitaries, and conducting background investigations.

During his distinguished career, Carmen served on temporary assignment to Presidential Protective Detail for Presidents Carter, Reagan, Nixon (during his retirement) and Eisenhower (during his retirement). Carmen also served on Dignitary Protective Detail for Pope John Paul II, Geraldine Ferraro, Henry Kissinger, and various other dignitaries. His career also included liaison positions with the FBI.

Carmen retired from the Secret Service in 1988.

Carmen was a proud father of Elena Marie, Kristina (deceased), David (Judith), Michael (deceased), and Paul; proud grandfather of Erika (Jackie), David (Kaitlyn), Nicholas, and Dominic; proud great-grandfather of Johnny and Jaxon.

The Funeral Mass is scheduled for this Thursday 3/6/25 11am at St. John Neumann Church (380 Highland Ln, Bryn Mawr, PA 19010) with Viewing starting at 10am. Burial at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery (1600 Sproul Rd, Springfield, PA 19064).
