Carmela Sabatino

Carmela "Connie" Sabatino nee Russo, 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Broomall Presbyterian Village, Broomall, PA.
Connie was born on July 1, 1928 at home in Overbook, Pennsylvania.
She was a 1946 graduate of Overbrook High School.
While in high school, Connie decorated store windows for Kresge's Department Store.
After high school, she planned to attend Drexel Institute (now Drexel University) but she met her husband, Raymond.
They married on January 27, 1951 and settled in Darby, PA, later moving to Havertown, PA.
They went on to raise four sons.
Connie was a devout Roman Catholic and spent time praying, saying the rosary and visiting various shrines.
She particularly enjoyed the St. John Neumann Shrine in Philadelphia, PA and the Padre Pio Shrine in Barto, PA.
Connie also loved the Jersey Shore, particularly Cape May, and spent many summer vacations there with her family over the years.
Connie's family was always the center of her world.
She adored her siblings - five sisters and two brothers.
She took great pleasure in hosting her family for holidays big and small.
Once her sons married and had children, her grandchildren were the light of her life.
She could always be found in the kitchen, with her apron on, cooking something delicious.
As any good Italian grandmother, when she was expecting a visit from her grandchildren, she was always sure to have their favorite food and drink on hand.
A particular favorite among her grandchildren was her tuna salad

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Raymond, her sons and their spouses - Raymond and Susan (Simpson) Sabatino, Thomas and Maureen (Logan) Sabatino and Bruce and Deborah (Massimo) Sabatino.
She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Sabatino.
