Camille Harper
August 12, 1943 – August 20, 2024
Camille Marie Harper (DiGregorio), 81, most recently of Newtown Square but prior lifelong resident of Upper Darby, peacefully went Home on Tuesday afternoon, August 20, 2024. She is now healed and restored to a body free of chronic pain and illness, and mercifully received straight into the arms of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
She is prayerfully reunited with many loved ones she had missed dearly and by whom she is predeceased: her devoted husband of 53 years on earth, Robert B Harper (2019); her beloved parents, Mimi DiGregorio (Corvaglia) (2007) and Jerry DiGregorio (1995); along with several grandparents, parents and brother-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Camille is survived by her loving daughter, Renée Rita Harper Kostik (Shawn Snider), her treasured granddaughter, Liliana Grace Kostik (aka her “special angel”), her caring brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Donna DiGregorio (Kazanjian), and sister-in-law, Roberta Landis (Harper), as well other close loved ones, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and longtime friends.
Camille cherished her memories made over the years with endless reminiscing of times spent during the holidays or summers “down the shore” with her parents, brother, aunts/uncles, cousins, and husband. She especially recalled the memories created anytime dancing with her cousins and friends was involved, attending endless dances at St. Alice’s, or making sure she didn’t miss American Bandstand. She had countless stories of family occasions, memorable road trips, and grand gestures with her husband, Bob. Camille often shared work stories of when she was employed at the Philly naval base and John Wanamaker’s, but would also add how once she became a mother she enjoyed that “job” best and loved volunteering at Renée’s school as a homeroom/SRA/library mom from the time her daughter was in kindergarten. She always welcomed her nieces for sleepovers and then Renée’s cousins and friends to come spend the weekend often enjoyed with shopping, dining out, pancake breakfasts, movies, and more. More recently, though, in Camille’s last 13 years, she spent her best moments with her immediate family and brother for little outings appreciating time spent but on a smaller scale. She still loved dancing but also relished any chance over the years to see her daughter dance and then her granddaughter too. Her favorite memories were made being a doting Grandmom to Liliana (and her granddog, Chloe). Although health issues sometimes prevented many other activities, Camille still tried to make an effort to keep making those special memories with her husband, daughter and granddaughter, and thankfully got to still enjoy going to church together, Longwood Gardens, various little restaurants, recitals and nutcrackers, playing family games, and of course, endless dancing in her living room … even up until the Monday prior to her passing on her 81st birthday!
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Church of the Saviour in Wayne, PA on Monday, November 4th at 10:30am with visitation starting at 10am and followed by a luncheon only. (Burial will be private with immediate family at a later date)
