Billy F. Williamson, 87, of Media, Pa passed away on April 1, 2018. Born and raised in Albertville, Alabama Billy served 30 years in the United States Navy. While on active duty, Billy was a photographer and learned to fly airplanes. He had duty assignments to Air Development Squadron 5 (VX-5) from 1951-57, worked for the Commander, Seventh Fleet from 1957-63. And Heavy Photographic Squadron 61 (VAP-61) from 1963-69. He served during both the Korean and Vietnam wars. After the Navy, Billy went to college and graduated from Radford College. He worked at several companies in the Delaware Valley before retiring, including the local CBS affiliate when John Facenda was the anchorman. He enjoyed rooting for the Alabama Crimson Tide and Philadelphia 76ers. His favorite player was Charles Barkley. After he retired he spent most of his time watching Fox News or western movies from the 1950's and 60's. He is survived by his wife Mary Williamson (nee Ervin), brother, Donald Williamson, son John (Linda) Williamson, grandchildren Joel, Bailey, Claire and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Floyd and Mamie (nee Phillips) Williamson, sisters Lucille Williamson and Imogene Beddingfield, brothers Fred and Bobby Williamson.
