Berit Brewington

Berit Brewington (née Aass), of Downingtown, Pa, passed away on December 9, 2022. She was the wife of the late Sydney Lee Brewington. Born January 26, 1942 in Oslo, Norway and the daughter of the late Kare and Randi (née Moller) Aass. Berit was predeceased by her brother Tore Aass and sister Ellen Romkes. 

When she was 20 years old, Berit came to the United States and worked as a secretary in East Orange, NJ.  Later, she moved to Delran, NJ where she raised her family. She graduated from Moore College of Art & Design in Philadelphia with a Batchelor of Fine Arts degree. Later she taught life drawing at Moore as adjunct faculty. In addition to her passion for drawing and painting, Berit enjoyed gardening, theater, and singing in the choir at Trinity Episcopal Church in Moorestown, NJ. 

Later, Berit moved to Ocean City, MD where she enjoyed the company of friends and family.  She continued pursuing her art with watercolors of coastal landscapes and unsuspecting beach goers. Berit was active in the Art League of Ocean City, winning several awards for her work. She was also an active volunteer at the Worcester County Library. Berit later moved to Downingtown, Pa to be closer to family. 

Berit is survived by her sons, Finn Klemann of Royersford, PA, Dean Brewington (Jennifer) of West Chester, Pa, and stepson, Jeffrey Brewington (Heather) of Lenexa, Ks, grandchildren Connor, Trevor, and Grant Klemann, Jack Brewington, and dear friend and companion Jimmy Fitzgerald. 

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
