Barry Webster

Barry P. Webster, 85, of Downingtown, PA, passed away May 15, 2021.

Born April 1, 1936 in New York, NY, he was a son of the late Thomas Palatucci Webster and Laura (nee VanWye) Webster.

Barry served honorably in the U.S. Army and the Air Force Reserves. He spent much of his career in the heating & air conditioning field, culminating in many years of teaching at Delaware Community College, developing innovative geothermal training equipment.  He was highly regarded by both his students and colleagues for his knowledge and skill and for always going the extra mile to offer his help and support.

Barry enjoyed spending time with family, helping with fix it projects, cooking, beach vacations, target shooting and archery and learning to play guitar.  He had an easygoing personality, as well as a determined sense of will and was always quick to lend a helping hand or make a silly joke.

Barry was the beloved husband of the late Lorraine (nee Lewis) Webster; loving father of Jon Webster and Lisa Sandmeyer; Dorian Schiller and Rob Renner; adoring grandfather of Genevieve, Alex, Jake, Lily, Jesse, Caroline and Abigail; dear brother of Dennis, Karl and Patricia; and cherished family of Joanne, Karen, Lexi, Nick and Andrew. He was predeceased by his brother, Bruce.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Memorial Service Friday, June 4, 2021 at 11:00 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester PA 19382. Interment will be private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
