Barbara J. Tillman, age 92, of West Chester, PA, passed away Friday, September 26, 2025.
Barbara was born November 2, 1932, in Chester, PA, she was a daughter of the late William G. and Ruth (nee Jump) Clark.
Barbara graduated from Media High School in 1950 and soon started to raise her family of eight children. After raising her family, she worked at Paoli Hospital as a nursing assistant for 21 years until she retired in 1995.
Barbara had several hobbies that she passionately enjoyed in retirement. She loved sewing, knitting and quilting. She was a long-time member of the St. Albans quilting club where she contributed to producing over five-hundred quilts for hospitalized children. Her favorite hobby was flower gardening for herself, her children and grandchildren. Sports were always a part of her life. From being a high school basketball captain, an avid cheerleader as a mother and grandmother to being an enthusiastic Philadelphia sports team fan. Another thing that she was very enthusiastic about was playing cards. She taught many family members and friends to play, to win and to lose.
Barbara was the wife of the late Harry M. Tillman, and is survived by her children Harry Tillman, Bonnie Bucksbaum (Mark), Clyde Tillman, Tina Bracciante (Michael), Linda Haske (Dave), and Donna Haske (Rick). Her daughters, Barbie Whalen-Fitzgerald and Cindy Speckman predeceased her. Mom-mom found immense joy in being with her eighteen grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Barbara is survived by her sister Sue Grumbine and predeceased by her brothers William Clark, Bruce Clark, Byron Clark, David Clark, and her sisters Marjorie Velisek and Gail Spencer. Barbara has a great many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to her Visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM, Saturday, October 4, 2025, at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, followed by her Funeral Service at 11:30 AM with Interment following at Middletown Presbyterian Cemetery, Media.
