Barbara Ryan

Barbara Anne Ryan (nee Burke), age 80, of Havertown, PA, passed away on October 31, 2021. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Barbara was the daughter of the late Joseph James and Dorthea Burke (nee Casey).

Barbara is a graduate of Harrington High School and Delaware County Community College. She grew up in Bala-Cynwyd and moved to Havertown. A true Delco girl! She was employed as a Registered Nurse at Lankenau Hospital.

Barbara loved to read. She read morning, noon, and night! She was vivacious and she could brighten up any room she was in with her contagious laughter and a wicked sense of humor. She was a dedicated Philadelphia sports fan.

Barbara was the beloved mother of Christine Klynen (Kurt), Tracy deCerchio (Louis), James Ryan, Jr. (Dana), Sean Ryan (Trish), Matthew Ryan (Carrie), Caitlin Ryan Lawrence (Kevin), the late Courtney Ryan; and loving sister of the late Diane Ellis. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, her brother-in-law Joe Ellis, sister/brother in law, Joyce and Larry Ryan, and dearest friend Michele Donahoe.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet Barbara’s family on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 366 West Lancaster Avenue, Wayne, PA 19087. Interment Private.
