Barbara Mary Abbott

Barbara M. Abbott (nee Quinn) of Upper Darby, PA. passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025 at the age of 86. Born and raised in South Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred J. Quinn and Catherine Quinn Devanney (nee Lind). Proud graduate of John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls High School, Class of 1956.

Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Michael J. Abbott, as well as her brothers, Joseph T. F. Quinn and Wilfred J. Quinn.

Barbara is survived by her four children: Anne Michele Abbott (Vincent Marano), Joseph T. Abbott (Anja), Barbara Anne Elko, MD, (the late James), and Carole Anne Abbott (Chuck Cahill). Dear Grandmother of Jonathan, Michael, and Anna Abbott, Mary Ann and Dennis Elko, and Catherine Abbott.

Family and friends are invited to attend Barbara’s Viewing on Monday, July 14, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, and on Tuesday, July 15, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Laurence Church, 8245 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby Township, PA 19082. Interment to be held at a later date at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA.
